14. [2025-02-24] Dr. Ye received the ASHRAE New Investigator Award.

13. [2025-02-24] Dr. Ye received new funding (1947-RP, Climate change driven extreme temperature effects for efficiency and resilience map of heat pump technology) from ASHRAE.

12. [2025-02-11] Dr. Ye, vice chair for ASHRAE TC 7.4, organized a TC 7.4 committee meeting and chaired a seminar titled “Energy Rationality with Waste Heat for District Heating and Cooling” at the 2025 ASHRAE Winter Conference.

11. [2024-09-26] Dr. Ye was selected as an innovator by IMPEL at Berkeley Lab and started a journey for IMPEL’s 2025 cohort. The information is here.

10. [2024-09-20] Dr. Ye started as a guest editor for a special issue in the Journal of Building Performance Simulation: Building Sustainability and Performance Through Simulation.

9. [2024-07-09] Dr. Ye was selected as a Youth Editor for Building Simulation: An International Journal.

8. [2024-06-23] Dr. Ye completed the research committee chair role for ASHRAE TC 7.4 and started a new role as vice chair for ASHRAE TC 7.4.

6. [2024-05-30] Dr. Ye was invited to attend “In-Person Workshop: Understanding Potential EV Charging Behavior and Infrastructure”  from 05/29 to 05/30 in the University of Tennessee Knoxville (UTK) supported by the UTK, Sandia National Laboratories, U.S. Department of Energy, and National Nuclear Security Administration. Dr. Ye presented in the workshop “A Perspective on the Impact of EV Adoption on Buildings at Different Geographic Scales.”

5. [2024-05-23] Dr. Ye attended the IBPSA-USA SimBuild 2024 Conference in Denver, CO, from 05/21 – 05/23. As a scientific committee member, Dr. Ye chaired two sessions (“Technical Session 3: Modeling for Carbon and Embodied Energy” and “Session Pitches”) and made two presentations (“Method to Create Prototypical Building Energy Models based on CBECS Data” and “Developing a Novel Modeling Framework for Residential Home’s Occupant Behaviors in Support of Building-to-Grid Integration Research​”) in the conference. In addition, he received the IBPSA-USA 2024 Emerging Contributor Award at the conference.

4.  [2024-05-17] Ryunhee (Luna) Kim passed her Ph.D. qualifying examination.

3.  [2024-04-11] Dr. Ye was invited to have a guest talk on the University of Oklahoma’s GSC@GCOE webinar. His talk’s topic is “Innovations in Modeling Sustainable Buildings.”
