Super-Sonic Wind Tunnel

  • Blowdown style Supersonic Wind Tunnel
  • Equipped with sliding block nozzle allowing the Mach number to vary from 1.85 to 3.34
  • 1000 ft^3 storage tank capable of holding air at 200 psia.
  • 6” x 6” test section
  • Computer controlled pneumatic valve to regulate mass flow rate and maintain constant stagnation pressure in the plenum chamber.

Sub-Sonic Wind Tunnel

  •  75 Hp DC motor powering centrifugal fan
  •  30” x 30” test section
  •  Max velocity of 25 m/s
  •  2D Turbulent Boundary Layer
  •  Velocity: 15 m/s
  •  47 cm downstream of test section entrance
  • Seeded with Di-Octyl Phthalate, with a nominal diameter of 0.7 microns, using six jet-atomizer
