The REU Site in Security for Energy and Intelligent transportation systems will host a diverse group of talented undergraduate students from universities and community colleges across the nation in an intensive 10-week summer research experience. Through this program, students engage as part of a research community that focuses on developing novel secure solutions that employ applied cryptography and machine learning to ensure reliable and safe operation of emerging networks in energy and intelligent transportation systems. The research projects will be offered by five faculty mentors and specifics will be discussed upon the acceptance of the candidates to the program. Below is a list of some potential research areas and the faculty mentors information

Potential Broad Project Areas:

  • Robust Detection of Electricity Theft Cyber AttacksĀ
  • Federated Learning based Energy Attack Detection and Prevention in Sustainable IoT
  • Optimal and Privacy-aware Vehicle-to-Vehicle Charge Coordination
  • Collusion Attack Modeling and Detection for Electric Mobility
  • In-Vehicle Sensor Fusion-based Cyber Attack Resilient Localization and Navigation System for Autonomous Vehicles

Mentors:
