Postdoctoral Research Associates

The Rao lab in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Alabama (https://raolab.ua.edu/) has openings for two post-doctoral research associates to work on a range of funded projects focused on utilizing engineering tools to study the mechanisms associated with the role of microenvironment in cancer progression, drug response, and resistance.
Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Chemical/Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Cancer Biology, or a related discipline.
• Strong background in tissue engineering, or cancer bioengineering, or cancer biology is required. Experience in hydrogel biomaterials, cell culture, confocal microscopy, mouse models of cancer, molecular biology techniques, and/or systems biology approaches, is highly preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write journal publications, prepare presentations, as well as assist with grant submissions.

The initial appointment will be for one year and can be renewed for additional years subject to satisfactory performance. The salary is highly competitive and includes health insurance and other benefits.
