Dr. Nilesh Kumar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at the University of Alabama since August 2018. Prior to this, he was a post-doctoral research associate at North Carolina State University Raleigh and the University of North Texas Denton. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Missouri University of Science & Technology Rolla. Dr. Kumar focuses on establishing correlation among processing , microstructure, and mechanical properties in metallic materials used in transportation and power-generation industries. He has published so far thirty-two (32) papers in peer-reviewed journals, co-authored three books, and contributed one handbook chapter.
