Facilities
Nonlinear Intelligent Structures laboratory is equipped with a number of state-of-the-art instruments providing a wide range of capability in dynamic modeling, vibration analysis and real-time control implementations for a wide range of micro- to macro-scale engineering systems.
Micro-Scale Research Equipment

The Innova Scanning Probe Microscope (SPM) delivers high-resolution scanning, and a wide range of functionality for microscale applications, such as tapping and contact mode AFM measurements, physical property characterization of materials, and etc.
Control and Vibrations Measurement Equipment

dSPACE 1103 is a single board system with real time processor with high speed I/O channels with applications to active vibration control, automotive, robotics, and etc.
In addition, we have equipment such as laser transducer, shaker, variety of accelerometers, and force sensors.

Dual channel piezo-driver provides precise voltage control for activating piezoelectric actuators.
We also have variety of piezoelectric stacks, energy harvesting kit, signal generator, and etc.
In addition, the facilities at Alabama Analytical Research Center (AARC) can be used by graduate student for their research. Please see the following websites for detail:
