Nonlinear Intelligent Structures Laboratory (NIS)

The University of Alabama Nonlinear Intelligent Structures Laboratory (NIS) is a part of Alabama IMaDE. NIS is a research lab featuring state-of-the-art equipment for experimental and numerical analysis of dynamics, vibrations and control of mechanical systems with applications to Automation, Micro- and NanoElectroMechanical Systems (MEMS and NEMS), energy harvesting, smart structures, and aerospace structures. NIS emphasis in all these areas is on modeling, closed-form and numerical solution of the response, experimental investigations and the consequent challenges. 

NIS laboratory is located in 162 Paty Hall.
