Overview

I’m an Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama. I’m a core faculty member in the Educational Neuroscience PhD Concentration and I am building the Brain, Learning, and Education (BLE) Lab.
I’m currently accepting graduate students. If you are interested or have any questions, email me at mspellicioni@ua.edu.

Research interests
My research uses behavioral and neuroscience methods (ERPs, fMRI) to understand individual differences in math skill and to identify the neurocognitive mechanisms predicting longitudinal gains in arithmetic skill over time, studying the roles of both cognitive and emotional factors (math anxiety; math attitudes) in explaining or mediating these effects.
