Dr. Mark Ming-Cheng Cheng is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alabama. The mission of his research group (Intelligent Sensors, I-Sensor Lab) is to apply state-of-the-art technologies and knowledge to emerging challenges in our society, including environmental pollution, aging population, and low-cost medical diagnosis.

Funded Research Positions
Dr. Cheng is looking for self-motivated undergraduate students, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers to join his team and to develop new technologies for environmental sensors and biomedical wireless sensing. Dr. Cheng’s previous students have joined industry (Intel, GM, LG, A123..) or became the faculty members at other institutions.
We have opening for PhD students and postdoc in Fall 2024 to work on water sensing technologies, wearable devices and BioMEMS. The students with BS/MS degrees in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, mechanical engineering or material science are encouraged to apply.
