Registration tips
During the fall and spring semesters, the normal class hour load for a full-time undergraduate student, who is not on scholastic probation, is 12–18 credit hours each semester. A student who has earned at least 12 credit hours at The University of Alabama & has maintained a grade point average of “B” (3.00) or higher for all work attempted at The University of Alabama may enroll for more than 18 hours. During the Summer term, full-time enrollment is 12 hours. The total load may not exceed 17 credit hours. You may take only one course in the summer interim.
Note: The cost of attendance each fall/spring/summer semester is the same when registered for 12-16 credit hours. Any hours above 16 will incur additional costs. This holds true when registering for KIN 488 internship credit hours.
Group Advising
Students must be advised each semester in order to be able to register for upcoming classes. An advising hold is placed on student accounts and will be removed after each student has met with their academic advisor and completed an advising form. Access the advising form
You will receive an email 8 weeks prior to the beginning of registration with a link that you can click on to sign up for a group advising session. During this session, your advisors will cover various registration topics like Degree Works, pre-requisite courses, how to plan your schedule, etc. View the group advising presentation to learn more.
