Bio:
Dr. Davami is an expert in advanced material characterization techniques. He is currently leading efforts in surface engineering including laser shock peening and laser surface re-melting. His other interests include process-structure-property-performance relationships in superalloys under extreme conditions, nanomechanical characterization of advanced materials, and high strain rate testing of additively manufactured structures. Dr. Davami has authored over 65 journal articles. His research has been supported by the Department of Energy, the Department of Defense, National Science Foundation, and various private industries. Dr. Davami was a recipient of the NRC Research Associateship award from the National Academies of Sciences. Previously, Dr. Davami was an Assistant Professor at Lamar University in Texas, and before that a Research Fellow in the Naval Research Lab in Washington D.C.
