
Ian Crawford, University of Alabama Interior Design instructor
A 2012 Graduate from Tulane University School of Architecture, Ian Crawford brings his passion for design, material culture, historic preservation, art and sustainability to the classroom in the courses he teaches. Formerly the Director of the Jemison Van de Graaff Mansion Foundation and later the Executive Director of the Tuscaloosa County Preservation Society, Crawford started teaching adjunct classes in interior design and art history before joining the Clothing, Textiles, and Interior Design Department for a full time role in 2018. A member of the City of Tuscaloosa Bicentennial Commission, he oversaw the development and implementation of an educational tourism app.

Crawford has been featured in Southern Living Magazine for design and preservation work, and interviewed on C-SPAN and other outlets in his role as a preservation advocate.
