DOULA CARE

My third research interest (see the “Perinatal Stress” page to learn about the first two) is doula care and doulas as collaborative members of the maternity care team. I have a strong footing in applied and service work as a birth and postpartum doula – a non-clinical health professional who provides education, support, and resources during pregnancy, labor and birth, and postpartum. I have served as a doula since 2012 and have also served as the program coordinator for a socially, culturally, and linguistically-matched Medicaid-funded doula program in Oregon. Below are my current roles in the organizations that I partner with to conduct research and improve access to doula services.
