Current undergraduate students

Joslyn Bullington
An undergraduate Mechanical Engineering student in the Randall Research Scholars Program at the University of Alabama. Her research areas include biomechanics and control systems for assistive devices and prosthetics.

Johnnie Reed
An undergraduate researcher at The University of Alabama, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. His research focuses on applying deep machine learning to biomedical applications, particularly prosthetic technologies. He aims to enhance control precision for myoelectric prostheses through active ultrasound imaging of the brachial plexus, including the median nerve, to provide greater autonomy and independence for individuals with diverse degrees of limb loss.

Maxwell Gainey
An undergraduate researcher working on my bachelor’s in mechanical engineering at the University of Alabama, and my participation in the ENABLE Lab is helping me to learn more about research opportunities at Alabama and to further my eventual goal of studying human biomechanics after graduation. Right now, I am assisting a grad student in preparing 3D renders of his experiments for presentation purposes and participating in data collection.

Dawson Martin
An undergraduate Mechanical Engineering student, hoping to pursue a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering after graduation. He is currently working on Functional Electrical Stimulation for people who have suffered loss of lower limb control.

Lily Hopkins
An undergraduate researcher studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alabama. Her research passions lie in biomechanics with a focus on rehabilitation along with assistive technology advancement to improve human health, performance, and well-being. She plans to pursue a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering after completing her bachelor’s.
Lab Alumni
Liz Carey, an undergraduate student in Mechanical Engineering at UA
Lauren Jeffries, an undergraduate student in Chemistry at UA
Jacob Crocker, an undergraduate student in Mechanical Engineering at UA
Matthew Grosman, Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center
