EPC reunites at UA’s new Randall Welcome Center

Brandi Stacey, Associate Director of In-State and Transfer Recruitment and former EPC graduate assistant, invited the Center over to her new domain last week, the Randall Welcome Center. The Randall Welcome Center provides a new front door for the University where visitors are engaged and immersed in all aspects of UA’s history and campus experiences. The 15,000-square-foot welcome center includes areas for prospective students to gather for campus tours, a lounge, theater, and UA admissions offices.

Congratulations President Jon Koh

Friday (March 22, 2024) the EPC, the Program in Higher Ed Administration, the Department of Political Science, and the Office of Research and Economic Development with the Alabama Transportation Institute hosted a reception congratulating Jon Koh on his recent appointment to president of Shelton State Community College! Dr. Koh was a graduate research associate at the EPC from 2012 through 2015 while working on his M.P.A. and later his Ph.D. in Higher Ed Administration. The room was filled with shared memories, and reconnections, as well as a place for new relationships to be fostered among Koh’s many colleagues, professors, and friends. With this reception, we wish President Koh the best of luck during his tenure at Shelton State!

Welcome Dr. Joyce Alexander!

The EPC team welcomes Dr. Joyce Alexander, the new dean of the College of Education at the University of Alabama. Making these early introductions is crucial to any successful relationship, and the EPC applauds Dr. Alexander for hearing from the team, their resume, and what they hope to do in the future!
