Alejandro Gonzalez

Alejandro Gonzalez is a sophomore majoring in Microbiology with a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies in Medicine at the University of Alabama. He is a McCollough Scholar and a member of the STEM Path to the MBA. In the spring of 2025, he joined the Drug Delivery Lab through the Emerging Scholars Program, where he assists research focusing on lens and eye diseases, as well as diabetes, utilizing a rodent model. Following his undergraduate studies, he plans to pursue an MBA at the Culverhouse College of Business before attending medical school. His ultimate goal is to become a thoracic oncologist, specializing in advanced treatments for lung cancer. Through his work in both research and medicine, he hopes to drive innovations that improve patient outcomes and accessibility to care.
