Welcome!

In the corrosion group at UA, we are working to understand the fundamental process-structure-property-environment relationships that govern corrosion performance and failure in alloys fabricated using traditional and advanced manufacturing methods. We have a particular interest in solid-state additive manufacturing technologies for in-field repairs to structural components of a variety of systems. Our work aims to optimize feedstock materials for novel repair and coatings capabilities, enhance predictive maintenance strategies, improve infrastructure resilience, and secure domestic supply chains.

Our overall goal is to maximize public safety, minimize environmental damage from corrosion failures, and improve repair processes to minimize asset downtime and total cost of ownership.
