Utkarsh Choudhury defended his written comprehensive exams at the end of May 2023, prior to beginning his second summer of preliminary fieldwork in India on the concept of “river rejuvenation” and river conservation of the Ganga. Utkarsh plans to defend his dissertation proposal in August 2023.
