Critical Conservation Geography Collective
We are a research collective in the Department of Geography, University of Alabama
Our collective’s mission is to produce scholarship and engage in scholarly praxis to advance a vision for, and greater capacity to bring about, conservation justice.
Our research collective is broadly organized within the tradition of political ecology, a diverse field of practice interested in the production of environmental inequalities, human-nature relationships, and how matters of social (in)justice intersect with pressing environmental questions. Political ecology is a powerful framework for analyzing and better understanding conflicts and inequalities produced through wildlife and natural resource management, nature conservation, and wildlife trade.
