Dana George

UA’s office at GulfQuest on the Mobile waterfront provides a centrally located physical space to expand research capacity and collaborations in the area. It serves as a nexus for research and programmatic initiatives that will benefit the region and UA. The Business Engagement and Research Operations Manager for UA at GulfQuest is Dana George.  Ms. George directs and leads GulfQuest and serves as a scientific and research liaison between OEBE, external stakeholders, and colleges, centers, and institutes within The University of Alabama.

Ms. George is originally from Mobile and currently serves on The Board of Advisors for the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce. She has extensive experience working for industry in various leadership positions. Ms. George acts as a liaison between industry and academia and facilitates collaborations to increase industry-university research partnerships and career opportunities for UA students. Additionally, Ms. George oversees Showcase Mobile, an annual career fair that connects UA students to local businesses in South Alabama during the Christmas holidays.

Ms. George earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Bradley University and will graduate with a master’s degree from The University of Alabama in educational psychology in 2022. She is a member of the Transportation and Logistics Club, Partners for Environmental Progress (PEP), and an active volunteer for Goodwill Easter Seals of the Gulf Coast.
