Dr. Whaley is an financial economist with research interests centering around risk, uncertainty, and insurance. His research focuses primarily on higher-order risk attitudes and how individual behavior affects distributional characteristics like variance, skewness, and kurtosis. His work encompasses both theoretical and empirical applications in a wide base of sub-disciplines including contest theory, behavioral finance, health economics, and agricultural economics.
