This lengthy post covers a basic walk-through of Respondus Campus-Wide, a software that imports word processing based exams (like word files) into Blackboard. The software is a huge time saver that allows for traditional paper based exam file to be migrated into Blackboard.
Downloading Respondus Campus Wide
Email cit@ua.edu and request access to the Respondus Blackboard course. Once you have access, follow the instructions in the New Users menu. There is also a bevy of instructional resources there.
Formatting Your Input File
Respondus Campus-Wide relies on a correctly specified file to import an exam into Blackboard. This formatting includes information to identify separate questions and answer while also informing the software of the correct choices. While this takes some time, it is a small investment in comparison to building an entire exam within Blackboard.
The template found here is a useful guide to formatting your exam file.
