About the Tour

 The BFSA Ambassadors, a student group, partnered with Dr. Hilary Green to create the Hallowed Grounds Tour. This tour is a byproduct of Dr. Green’s research on the history of slavery at the University of Alabama. More information on the history of slavery on UA’s campus can be found here. 

Hallowed Grounds Tour RSVP Form

The tour is open to current students, alumni, faculty, staff, community members, and potential students. The tour will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. Please use the form below to sign up for a tour. All tours begin at Gorgas House. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early so the tour can start on time. 

Please complete the Hallowed Grounds Tour RSVP Form at least 14 days before your requested date and time.  Once your tour has been scheduled in our system, you will receive a confirmation email detailing your tour times, meeting area, and the name of your assigned Tour Guide.  Tour capacity will be limited to 30 people max. 

You can also take a self-guided/virtual Hallowed Grounds Tour. ​

Note: Guided Hallowed Grounds Tours will only be provided to those who RSVP. Tours will be rescheduled in the case of inclement weather conditions and/or Campus Closings. ​All tours will be held Monday-Thursday from 1:00 pm- 5:00 pm.
