Mission
The mission of the Black Scholars Program is to provide an opportunity for African American and multicultural students who have excelled academically to develop, prepare, and gain entry into the University of Alabama Honors College and other leadership programs at UA. We envision this program as supplemental, utilizing a pipeline strategy to increase the number of African American Students in these academic and leadership programs.
Application Process
The application process will begin in the Spring of 2025; 10 to 15 incoming freshmen will be selected for the program to prepare them to apply to the University of Alabama Honors College Program and/or other leadership development programs in the Spring semester.
Overview
The BFSA Black Scholars program will consist of five forums/lectures in the Fall and Spring, focusing on various topics related to networking skills, career development, leadership development, and navigating the university successfully.
