For more than a quarter-century, BFSA has sponsored the Black Scholars Day Program to honor African American undergraduate and graduate students who have achieved a cumulative UA grade point average of 3.3 or higher and qualify to receive one of the following awards:

1. Academic Achievement Award GPA 3.3 – 3.59
2. Academic Excellence Award GPA 3.6 – 3.79
3. Academic Distinction Award GPA 3.8 – 3.99
4. Sandral Hullett (Freshmen) GPA 4.00
5. Earnestine Tucker (Sophomores ) GPA 4.00
6. Archie Wade (Juniors) GPA 4.00
7. Harold Bishop ( Non-graduating Seniors) GPA 4.00
8. Cleophus Thomas ( May Graduating Seniors) 4.00
