Join the Black Faculty and Staff Association (BFSA) as we celebrate the academic achievements of our students at the Fall Nyansapo Ceremony. Rooted in the rich traditions of African heritage, Nyansapo—the “wisdom knot”—symbolizes knowledge, ingenuity, and the importance of community. This ceremony honors graduating students while recognizing the support of their families, faculty, and staff who have contributed to their success.

Theatre Tuscaloosa Presents: Alabama Story
This powerful production is set in Montgomery in 1959 and delves into Alabama’s history through themes of belonging, identity, and the fight to protect one’s home and heritage. Inspired by real events, Alabama Story recounts the controversy over The Rabbit’s Wedding, a children’s book featuring a Black rabbit and a white rabbit who marry and the courageous librarian who stands her ground. At the same time, childhood friends—one Black and one white—confront the painful truths of their shared past.
