Nursing Expansion Grant Program Application Process
Students who express interest in the Nursing Expansion Grant Program will be evaluated by the CCN Academic Advisors, the Nursing Expansion Grant Program Director, and the Nursing Expansion Grant Program Coordinator to determine whether they meet the participant criteria.

Expectations while in the Nursing Expansion Program
Participants are required to comply with the following:
- Meet with coaches at the beginning of each semester;
- At a minimum, meet with the writing associate at the beginning of each semester;
- Develop an Academic Success Plan each semester based on feedback received from coaches and the writing associate at the beginning of each semester;
- Maintain full-time or part-time student status in the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree with a nursing education specialization according to programmatic progression requirements;
- Maintain a part-time clinical adjunct position with an employer partner for the duration of the grant yet with flexible hours (19 hours or less/week) to allow for successful graduate studies;
- Participants cannot be co-enrolled in multiple H-1B Nursing Expansion Grants.
Expectations Upon Graduation
Participants are asked to provide permanent contact information for ongoing communication beyond graduation and post-graduate surveys for data collection purposes. This project was funded by a grant awarded under the H-1B grants by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration. Collecting this information helps track the long-term success of this training program.
Your personal information is kept confidential and secure. It will not be shared with outside agencies other than those supporting or overseeing the H-1B grant received by the University of Alabama and issued by the U.S. Department of Labor. Your information will never be sold or shared with third-party agencies through your participation in grant-supported training activities.
For all participants, the CCN Nursing Expansion Grant Program will remain in contact with your employer to see if you have 1) increased skills and 2) increased salary due to your nursing education
