Dr. Hyunjoo Yoo, Ph.D. is the Director of the Alabama Baby Communication (ABC) Lab and Assistant Professor of Communicative Disorders at The University of Alabama. She received her Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from The University of Memphis. Her primary research interests include investigating infant vocal development, caregiver-infant interaction, conversational turn-taking, which are foundations for speech and language development.

Baylor Belich is a senior at The University of Alabama, originally from Montgomery, Alabama. She is majoring in Communicative Disorders with a double minor in Psychology and Human Development. She plans to attend graduate school after college to pursue her career as a Speech Language Pathologist. She is a part of some organizations on campus such as: B+ Foundation, Kappa Delta, Als Pals, and the Rise Center. Throughout her college experience, she has worked closely with Dr. Yoo on Early Childhood Development, more specifically infant vocal development. When she is not at school, she enjoys reading on the beach or hanging out with family.

Lee Chapman Parks is an undergraduate student studying Communication Disorders with a minor in Human Development. She plans to graduate from The University of Alabama in the spring of 2022. Through her time researching with Dr. Yoo she hopes to gain knowledge and experience that will help her further her goal to become a Speech and Language Pathologist. Lee Chapman is currently researching the relationship between parent-child interaction and will continue to work with Dr. Yoo through.

Ashley Morales is a senior at the University of Alabama. She is originally from Fort Payne, Alabama and she is majoring in Communicative Disorders with a minor in Human Development. She will be graduating from the University of Alabama in the spring of 2022. After completing her undergraduate degree, she plans to attend graduate school to pursue a career as a Speech Language Pathologist. She has always had a passion to help children. She has a younger brother who is 14 years younger than her and he has helped her find her passion for kids. She hopes one day become a speech language pathologist and continue to help children daily. When she is not in school she enjoys being with her three dogs, family, and friends.

Naomi Sidje is a senior at The University of Alabama where she is majoring in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Mathematics. She is also a pre-medical student and she is very interested in pediatrics. As a student, she has been able to be a part of the Al’s Pal’s Mentorship Program, Bama Tutors for Service, and the French Learning Exploration Program. Moreover, she volunteers at Rise School of Tuscaloosa and Urgent Care for Children. This past summer she even served as a counselor at Camp Kesem. She has always loved working with children, and her hope is to one day become a pediatrician and continue to serve in her community.

Lindsay Trull is from Millport, Alabama. She is a senior at UA in the Communicative Disorders department. She currently serves as the Undergraduate Philanthropy Chair for the National Student Speech Hearing and Language Association on campus. She has a passion for helping those in need, specifically children. After she graduates in the spring, she plans to attend graduate school to pursue a degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She is eager to see God’s plan for her life unfold as she begins pursuing this field. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing with my Yorkie, Ellie, and Alabama football. She is thankful for the connections and relationships that UA CD has given me. Roll Tide!
